New Chrysler 300

The 2012 Chrysler 300 will make its official debut at the upcoming Detroit Auto Show, but that hasn’t stopped Chrysler from releasing some very revealing pictures of its executive sedan. From the pictures, the new design doesn’t stray too far from the current design, which is not necessarily a bad thing.

The 2012 Chrysler 300 can be powered by either the new Pentastar V6 with 292 horsepower or a 360-hp 5.7L V8. More pictures and official details will be provided in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.

New, 2020 Land Rover Defender Off-road SUV

It took decades, but there is finally a fully-redesigned Land Rover Defender.

British automaker Land Rover used the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show to debut an all-new Defender, modernizing the iconic SUV with new technology while maintaining some of its classic charm.

As capable as it is off-road, the new Defender is more civilized than the previous models, having been redesigned for more comfort on all road conditions. It’s capabilities as an overland vehicle have also been improved.

Buyers will be able to choose between the two-door Defender 90 and the larger four-door Defender 110, both available in four different configurations: Adventure, Country, Explorer, and Urban.

The Defender 90 has 8.5 inches of ground clearance, while the Defender 110 has 8.6-inches. Both configurations can travel through 35.4 inches (3 feet) of water.

Despite its relatively compact size, the Defender has a payload capacity of nearly one ton. It can handle a static roof load of 660 pounds and tow more than 8,200 pounds.

Designers retained the boxy form of the previous Defenders, but an angled windshield and slightly rounded corners improve the SUV’s aerodynamics.

Inside, the rugged interior features a 10-inch PIVI Pro infotainment system that serves as gateway to the latest tech and convenience features, such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster with 3D maps, a head-up display that can show videos, and a rearview mirror that displays the view from the backup camera.

In North America, the 2020 Land Rover Defender will be offered with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine rated at 296 horsepower and a six-cylinder mild hybrid powertrain that produces 395 horsepower and 506 pound-feet of torque. The former can accelerate the SUV to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 7.7 seconds, while the latter slashes the sprint to 5.8 seconds.

If you find the Jeep Wrangler too plebeian and the Mercedes-Benz G-Class too expensive, the new Land Rover might just be utilitarian off-roader you’ve been waiting for.

2020 Audi RS7 Sportback

It’s the sexiest, sportiest RS7 to date and one of the most attractive cars on the market.

There is a new Audi RS7 Sportback, and it boasts more power and better styling.

The performance-tuned German sports sedan is powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 that produces 600 PS (592 horsepower) and 590 pound-feet of torque.

The engine is mated to an eight-speed tiptronic transmission and features the same 48-volt mild hybrid system as the latest RS6 Avant, allowing the driver to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standstill in just 3.6 seconds on route to a top speed of 155 mph (249 km), which can be raised to 174 mph (280 km) or nearly 190 mph (306 km) with optional upgrade packages.

An adaptive air suspension system comes standard, and drops the RS7 Sportback by nearly a half inch when traveling at high speeds. It can also be raised by 0.8 inches to more easily drive over rough pavement.

Four-steering, an RS sport exhaust system with black tailpipes, and large carbon-ceramic brakes are all available.

As for styling, the new Audi RS7 Sportback sets itself apart from the A7 with more aggressive front and rear fascias, a wider stance, and 10-spoke 21-inch alloys (22-inch RS wheels are optional). It joins the RS6 wagon as one of the hottest cars in Audi’s lineup.

It foreshadows the design and technological developments of future production EVs.

Hyundai has unveiled the 45 EV Concept, an all-electric vehicle that pays tribute to the 1974 Pony Coupe Concept, the car that introduced the Korean automaker to the world.

Visually, the 45 EV concept features an attractive yet minimalistic design that blends futuristic and throwback touches inspired by the Pony. Highlights include a monocoque-style body that’s said to evoke aircraft construction from the 1920s.

Not only does the name reference 45 years since the Pony Coupe first appeared, but it is also tied to the 45-degree angles at the front and rear, forming a diamond-shape silhouette that Hyundai says previews the design direction of future production EVs.

The interior supposedly feel like a living room outfitted with new pieces of furniture, boasting rotating seats that swivel towards occupants as they open the door to improve ingress and egress. A new hidden Camera Monitoring System (CMS) serves as the side mirrors and opens the door for self driving applications.

Hyundai left out any details about the electric powertrain and how much driving range it offers, but we expect at least 400 miles (644 km).
