The Cross Sport is more stylish than the regular Atlas.

Volkswagen has revealed the all-new Atlas Cross Sport, expanding the Atlas lineup with a sportier, coupe-like crossover.

As a five-seat alternative to the regular Atlas, the Cross Sport eliminates the third row of seats in favor of a sleeker profile but still manages to provides 40.3 cubic feet of stowage space when the rear seats are up and 77.8 cu ft when folded flat.

A three-bar chrome grille, unique headlights, and more sculpted hood gives it a more upscale look than its larger sibling, while an available R-Line package amps up the sportiness factor with 21-inch wheels and sportier bumpers with chrome and piano black accents around the lower front air scoops.

It can hit 60 mph in a supercar-like three seconds flat.

The BMW 8 Series family has welcomed its final two members, the M8 Gran Coupe and M8 Gran Coupe Competition.

What you are essentially getting with both models is a merger of the existing M8 and the 8 Series Gran Coupe — a super sedan that can go toe-to-toe with many supercars.

Despite offering nearly eight inches of additional rear shoulder room and more than seven inches of rear legroom, the two extra doors and stretched body make the M8 Gran Coupe just 185 pounds heavier than its two-door counterpart.

Power comes from the lineup’s familiar 4.4-liter twin-turbo S63 V8, tuned to produce 600 horsepower for the standard edition and 617 ponies for the Competition trim. Torque is rated at 553 pound-feet regardless of variant.

The V8 is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, allowing the BMW M8 Gran Coupe to reach 60 mph (96 km/h) from a standstill in 3.1 seconds, while the M8 Gran Coupe Competition matches the M8 coupe’s 3.0 seconds.

Top speed is electronically-limited at 155 mph (249 km/h) but can be increased to 190 mph (306 km/h) with the M Driver’s Package.

2020 Chevy Corvette Convertible Gets Smart Folding Hardtop

2020 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible, silver

It represents another first for the Corvette nameplate and can carry two sets of golf clubs like the coupe.

General Motors has unveiled the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray convertible, which features the first power-folding retractable hardtop in the model’s history.

This is a one-of-a-kind Corvette Convertible because, instead of simply having its top chopped off like the previous models, it was engineered first and foremost for open-air driving.

In fact, the Corvette Stingray convertible is so close to the Corvette coupe in functionality and form that it has the same cargo capacity even with the hardtop stowed away.

Speaking of the hardtop, it is a power folding, two-piece setup inspired by fighter jets, with its two aerodynamic nacelles mimicking jet engine housings.

The roof can be operated at speeds up to 30 mph (48 km/h) and only takes 16 seconds to retract. Check it out in action…

A body-colored roof is standard, while Carbon Flash metallic-painted nacelles and roof are optional. A divider glass window in the middle of the vehicle can be powered-adjusted with the top up or down.

The 2020 Corvette Stingray Convertible is powered by the same 6.2L Small Block V-8 LT2 engine as the coupe. Mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, it produces 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque when equipped with the optional performance exhaust system.

The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible commands a $7,500 premium over the coupe. Production begins in the first quarter of 2020.

Seokijiservice’s Thoughts

Not only does switching to a hardtop provide a quieter cabin and better protection against the elements, but it also gives the new Corvette Convertible and a cleaner look than previous soft top designs.

The only major downside is the elimination of the coupe’s transparent panel that showcases the mid-mounted engine.
