When Jeep’s pickup truck arrives in 2018, it will be available with an optional soft-top that effectively makes it a convertible.
Sources close to the company revealed to that the model will revive the Scrambler nameplate and allow owners to lower the top or remove it entirely.
It will be the first topless truck since the Dodge Dakota Convertible was introduced in 1989 — that is, if we don’t consider the Chevrolet SSR a true pickup truck.
Jeep previewed its Wrangler-based truck with the unveiling of the Crew Chief 175 concept (pictured) at the 2016 Easter Jeep Safari. Sharing the Wrangler’s bones and featuring a retro-inspired front end, the Crew Chief will influence the Scrambler one way or another.
The 2019 Jeep Scrambler is expected to enter production line at Jeep’s Toledo, Ohio, plant in November 2018. Does an optional soft-top make you more likely to get one?
