After numerous teases, the Mercedes GLE Coupe has officially been revealed donning a design similar to that of the BMW X6. Indeed, Mercedes-Benz’s coupe-inspired SUV was developed to go head-to-head with the X6 and comes with the necessary equipment to do so.
Looking very similar to the SUV Coupe Concept that was unveiled at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show, the GLE Coupe features a prominent single bar grille flanked by LED headlights, a sloping roofline mimicking that of a two-door coupe, and a distinctive rear end inspired by the S-Class Coupe’s. Plastic body cladding give the peculiar German SUV a touch of ruggedness, while a dual exhaust system and standard 20-inch alloy wheels (21- and 22-inch wheels are optional) accentuate its sporty pretentions.
The performance-tuned GLE 450 AMG Coupe ups the sporty ante with an aggressive AMG body kit and standard 21-inch lightweight alloy wheels.
Inside, the regular GLE Coupe is virtually identical to the GLE (formerly the ML-Class) and houses sport seats, a sport steering wheel and a large high-definition color screen for the infotainment system. The GLE 450 AMG sets itself apart with nappa leather-wrapped sports steering wheel, stainless steel pedals and carbon fiber trim with piano black accents.
With over 58 cubic feet of maximum cargo space, the GLE Coupe is supposedly the most spacious “coupe” in the world.
The GLE Coupe lineup will be offered with slew of engines — all hooked to a nine-speed automatic transmission — including a twin-turbocharged V6 that produces 333 horsepower and 354 lb-ft. (480 Nm) of torque, and a Europe-only turbodiesel with 258 hp and a generous 457 lb-ft. (620 Nm).
For those looking for more power, GLE 400 4MATIC packs a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine rated at 333 hp and 354 lb-ft. (480 Nm) of torque, while the GLE 450 AMG is powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 that develops 367 hp and 383 lb-ft. (520 Nm) of torque.
Other performance highlights of the 450 AMG include a standard AIRMATIC air suspension and a variable adaptive damping system with an automatic lowering function.
Now that you’ve seen the Mercedes GLE Coupe, would you choose it over the BMW X6? Let us know in the comments.

Lincoln Continental Coach Door Edition Comes Back For 2020
Lincoln has nearly doubled production to 150 units.
Missed out on your chance to get the Lincoln Continental Coach Door Edition? You are in luck! Lincoln has decided to bring back the model for the 2020 model year.
Introduced in 2018 to celebrate the brand’s 80th anniversary, the special edition Continental rides on a stretched wheelbase that provides more room for passengers and features center-opening ‘suicide’ doors.
Back-seat passengers benefit from a table on the center console, two tablet holders, and individual climate controls, while the entire interior is covered in premium materials that mostly match the regular Continental’s range-topping Black Label trim.
The Continental Coach Door Edition is powered by a 3.0L twin-turbocharged V6 that produces 400 horsepower and 400 lb-ft. of torque. Buyers can choose from three colors: Chroma Crystal Blue, Infinite Black, and Pristine White Metallic.
The 2019 model’s limited production run of 80 units sold out in just two days, so Lincoln saw it fit to increase output to around 150 examples for 2020. The price tag of $115,470 for each unit represents a premium of nearly $40,000 premium over the regular Continental Black Label.
There is a good chance that all 150 units of the Lincoln Continental Coach Door Edition will be sold in a blink of an eye, so act fast if you want one. Deliveries are expected to begin by spring 2020.
